Global Directories Extends Footprint into Guyana

The announcement was made during a signing ceremony at the GTT Headquarters in George Town Guyana on Tuesday January 26th.

This acquisition means that local businesses in Guyana will have the opportunity to truly increase brand visibility and customer engagement through Global Directories’ extensive portfolio of Directory products and Digital Advertising Solutions. With this acquisition, Global Directories continues to cement its position as the largest Directory Publisher in the English-speaking Caribbean, boasting an impressive portfolio of 17 print telephone directories with 1.6 million copies in circulation in over 17 countries. In addition, its online directories span over 6,000,000 unique visitors and over 27,000,000 searches annually.

Global Directories Appoints New President & CEO

Thursday, October 22, 2015: Global Directories Ltd., the leading directory publisher and digital media solutions company in the region, has announced two major changes to its leadership team.

Mark Macfee has been appointed to President for the Caribbean and Central America based company. Meanwhile, less than six months after joining the company as its Business Development Director, Ian Neita has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer.

“The global media landscape is changing at a rapid pace,” said Randy French, Chairman of Global Directories. “In line with this, we have appointed a strong leadership team with a vast understanding of strategic planning and business transformation to address the needs of our customers in the new digital environment that is also rapidly evolving.”

French continues, “Mark has a proven ability to develop and lead the company’s strategic vision into unchartered territories thus capitalising on the opportunities that this diverse digital age provides.”

In response to his appointment, Macfee said, “I am honoured to lead the strategic vision for Global Directories, as we identify new frontiers geared towards improving the value we offer to our customers, consumer and colleagues.”

Mark Macfee joined Global Directories in 2009 as Executive Vice President and was later appointed to CEO and Board Director in 2014. He was instrumental in several new market acquisitions as well as the 2013 signing of the Google Adwords SMB Partnership Program.

Meanwhile, the mantle has been passed to Ian Neita who will champion the development of new products and services to better serve the new demands of businesses across all 16 markets.  “These are exciting times for Global Directories and I look forward to the challenges and opportunities of leading the most dynamic transformation in the company’s history” expressed Neita.

The past Appliance Traders Limited General Manager served in several senior capacities and brings over 3 decades of leadership skills combined with a passion for customer and excellent track record for driving growth.

Global Directories Rallies the Caribbean to Provide Aid to Dominica

Global Directories has rallied the Caribbean to assist Dominica with relief efforts following the devastation caused by Tropical Storm Erika. This initiative appropriately dubbed “Rally Round Dominica” donated over 400 cases of water and a large quantity of non-perishable food items to businesses and families in Dominica.

Items were collected by the Global Directories team in St. Lucia and then shipped to Dominica with the kind assistance of the Government of Dominica.

The Global Directories’ Sales Manager for the Eastern Caribbean, Vanetta Charlemagne said “The news of the effects of Tropical Storm Erika was truly overwhelming, but when we arrived in the country and witnessed the impact; it was heart wrenching. Our focus now is to ensure our customers’ needs are met at this difficult time.”

The team of volunteers also visited and provided aid relief for two Grammars schools in Roseau currently being used as places of shelter for displaced families.

General Manager for the Eastern Caribbean Collin Francis shared, “Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims and survivors of this tragedy. This initial donation to the people of Dominica demonstrates our passion for fulfilling our corporate responsibility. It is important for us to get involved in rebuilding the country and local communities; I have no doubt that the people of Dominica, through their resilience and determination will build a better and stronger country bonded with ties of camaraderie and nation building.”
