Day 1: San Diego 

You can start your California trip by exploring San Diego for a day. This city is a perfect place for animal lovers because of the San Diego Zoo, hosting more than 3,700 animals. You can also visit Balboa Park, home to 17 attractions, gardens, and museums. The park is also where you can find great restaurants. Besides the delicious, fresh seafood, you will also enjoy the San Diego Bay views.

Day 2: Anza Borrego State Park and Joshua Tree National Park 

Anza Borrego State Park is considered a dessert wonderland because of its unique, picturesque biosphere. This destination is about two hours road trip from San Diego, so start the journey in the morning. During spring, you can explore the Mojave desert. The state park also offers different hiking trails.

In the afternoon, you can visit Joshua Tree National Park. This is where you can witness the Joshua trees and dozens of cacti species. During spring, you will see flowers bloom and butterflies.

Day 3: Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve 

If you plan to visit California in the spring, go a little further north and explore the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve. This attraction brings you a miles of poppy flowers. Day 4: Los Angeles

Day 6: San Francisco
